Objectivos
O principal objectivo do AZULEJAR é a
divulgação e consolidação do conhecimento na área da azulejaria de
fachada bem como a discussão sobre o seu desenvolvimento. Para esta
temática de fronteira entre áreas de conhecimento há a necessidade
de ser recentrada e estudada de forma mais autónoma visando o seu
conhecimento material de forma a conduzir à sua preservação e
valorização.
O presente tema tem cada vez mais
pertinência uma vez que as acções de reabilitação dos centros
históricos e de edifícios antigos tem crescido nos últimos anos e,
com alguma frequência, a azulejaria antiga é alvo de intervenções
pouco consistentes o que tem levado à perda da identidade histórica,
cultural e material de um dos mais característicos revestimentos
portugueses.
A temática da azulejaria de épocas mais
remotas será outro vetor em discussão e análise, bem como questões
relacionadas do azulejo com a arquitetura, o urbanismo e o
assentamento (argamassas).
Targets
The main target of AZULEJAR
is the dissemination and consolidation of knowledge in the
theme of glazed ceramic tiles and the promotion of discussion on its
development. This theme that encompasses various areas of expertise
and there is the need to establish a specific study area in order to
consolidate knowledge and contribute towards preservation and
attribution of value.
The present theme is
increasingly important as rehabilitation actions in historic
centres
and old buildings has increasing in the recent past and,
frequently, glazed tile claddings have been prone to inconsistent
approaches, leading to the loss of historical, cultural and material
identity of one of the most characteristic Portuguese claddings.
The theme of the historic
tiles will be another topic in discussion and analysis as well as
issues related with the relations between tile and architecture,
urbanism and application (mortars).
